Tata Power Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL) has announced that all its meter testing laboratories in Burla, Bolangir, and Rajgangpur have achieved NABL certification. The accreditation, awarded by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), is based on the ISO/IEC 17205: 2017 standard, which outlines the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.
The certification ensures that TPWODL’s testing facilities are fully compliant with the highest standards for accuracy and reliability in smart meter testing.
The laboratories, certified up to 2025, play a crucial role in the company’s quality assurance process. Every smart meter procured from the manufacturer undergoes rigorous testing at these accredited facilities before being installed at consumer premises.
TPWODL plans to apply for further inspections and continued accreditation by NABL as the certification period nears its end. This proactive approach underscores the company’s commitment to maintaining top-tier standards in meter testing and calibration.
