Persistent Systems, a digital engineering and business modernization company, announced on Wednesday that it had purchased Starfish Associates, a New Jersey-based company, for an unknown amount.

Starfish Associates, which serves numerous Fortune 500 firms, is well-known for its enterprise communications automation technology.

“As this industry undergoes significant disruption on the back of AI-led innovations, the integration of Starfish Associates’ platform greatly enhances our unified communications and contact center management offerings,” stated Sandeep Kalra, CEO and Executive Director of Persistent Systems.

With automation, Starfish Associates’ automation platform improves multi-vendor communication management with Avaya, Cisco, Amazon Connect, Genesys, and Microsoft Teams, among other platforms.

Robert Hankin, Co-Founder and Partner, Starfish Associates, stated, “Joining forces with Persistent presents a new chapter for us, on the one hand augmenting our capabilities in integration, automation, and AI-driven contact center transformation, and on the other hand giving us access to Persistent’s strong customer base.”

According to Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst at HFS Research, Pune-based Persistent is well-positioned to upend the contact center and unified communications sectors with the acquisition of Starfish Associates.
