Paradip, Feb 12
The 46th All India Major Ports Football Championship kicked off at Gopabandhu Stadium on Wednesday, with teams from eight major ports competing in the tournament. A.K. Bose, Advisor (Traffic), Paradip Port, inaugurated the event.
The championship, organized by the Paradip Port Authority (PPA) and the Major Ports Sports Control Board, will follow a league-cum-knockout format and run until February 16, 2025.
The inaugural match featured Paradip Port Authority (PPA) vs. Visakhapatnam Port Authority.
The opening ceremony was presided over by D.N. Sondhi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, along with Dr. D.P. Sethy (Secretary), Rabi Dash (Coordinator), and Ranjan Rashmi Beura (Joint Secretary).
This annual tournament aims to promote sportsmanship and strengthen bonds among major ports across India.
